Štěpán Uherik is a Czech entrepreneur and investor in cryptocurrency technology. He was born in Prague, Czech Republic and studied at the University of Economics there. After graduating he founded a number of successful digital media companies before becoming involved in cryptocurrencies.
In 2014 Štěpán co-founded Coinmate, a cryptocurrency exchange that allows users to buy and sell Bitcoin (BTC) as well as other digital currencies such as Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), Litecoin (LTC) or Dash (DASH). The company quickly gained traction due to its focus on security and customer experience. In 2016 Štěpán left Coinmate to launch Nejc Novak’s MyCoinBank, an online wallet for storing various cryptocurrencies securely within one platform.
Štěpán’s current venture is ShapeShift AG, which provides customers with instant access to dozens of different coins through their mobile app making it easy to purchase any coin they desire without registering or providing personal data. The company also provides API services for developers who want to integrate their own applications into the ShapeShift ecosystem allowing them access to all available assets from one source.
Today Štěpán continues his work at ShapeShift AG where he serves as CEO & Co-Founder alongside Nejc Novak and Erik Voorhees . He remains passionate about pushing boundaries when it comes modernizing traditional payment methods using blockchain technology – something that has earned him recognition both inside and outside of the crypto space .
