Kristi Noem (born November 30, 1971) is an American politician and businesswoman who has served as the 32nd Governor of South Dakota since January 5, 2019. She is a member of the Republican Party. Prior to her election as governor, she was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 2011 until 2019.
Noem has expressed support for cryptocurrency innovation and blockchain technology in South Dakota; In 2020 she signed legislation that officially recognizes digital signatures on documents within the state.
