What is a Senior Economist?
A senior economist is an economic professional with expertise in the field of economics and extensive knowledge of financial markets. A senior economist typically has years of experience working in the field as well as advanced qualifications such as a PhD or Master’s degree. As a senior economist, they are responsible for researching and analyzing macroeconomic trends, advising on investments, forecasting future economic conditions, and developing strategies to mitigate risks associated with fluctuating market conditions. They may also be involved in policy making that affects large-scale economies such as government taxation policies or stimulus packages to promote growth. In addition to their analytical skillset, senior economists must possess strong communication skills in order to effectively communicate their findings and recommendations to stakeholders including investors, government officials, corporates executives and other analysts.
