Noel Quinn is the global head of Commercial Banking for Silicon Valley Bank (SVB). He is responsible for leading SVB’s Global Business Solutions, which provides banking and financial services to businesses in over 30 countries.
Quinn joined Silicon Valley Bank in 2014 after spending 25 years at HSBC, where he held a variety of senior positions across various regions including Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. In his role as Head of Commercial Banking at SVB, Quinn oversees a range of corporate banking products and services that serve the bank’s clients globally. These include working capital solutions; payments & cash management; trade finance; foreign exchange; treasury management; merchant services and debt financing options.
Under Quinn’s leadership SVB has also become an active investor in cryptocurrency-related companies through its venture arm. The bank has invested in several blockchain startups such as Circle Internet Financial Inc., Ripple Labs Inc., Chainalysis Inc., Coinbase Inc., LedgerX LLC, Celo Alliance and Bakkt Holdings LLC amongst others. Through these investments the bank hopes to gain insight into the rapidly evolving digital asset space while providing capital support to innovative startups looking to drive industry development forward.
In addition to his current position with SVB, Noel Quinn serves on advisory boards for organizations such as FinTech Canada, Blockchain Benchmarking Research Institute and the Hong Kong Fintech Association among others.
