Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is the current chairman of the Federal Reserve, appointed by President Donald Trump in February 2018. He is responsible for setting and implementing monetary policy to achieve maximum employment, stable prices and moderate long-term interest rates for all Americans.
Prior to his appointment as head of America’s central bank, he served in various government positions including undersecretary at the U.S Department of Treasury (1990–1993) and Deputy Secretary at the Department of State (1994–1997). During this time period he also held a senior position with Bankers Trust Company from 1997 until 2001 when it was acquired by Deutsche Bank AG where he remained until 2005 when left that organization as Managing Director. In addition, prior to being named Chairperson Of The Federal Reserve Board Of Governors, Mr. Powell chaired several financial services companies such as Gavilon Group LLC between 2007 through 2012 while acting on several boards over different periods since then up till present day; these include United Services Automobile Association , Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited , USAA Asset Management Company among others .
In his role as chairperson of the federal reserve board governor’s Mr Powel has been actively involved with making decisions related to economic policies governing fiscal stimulus packages used during times associated with recessions or potential downturns within markets around world . Additionally some other key initiatives have included moves towards providing better transparency regarding banking regulations along side increasing access too credit/loan options available too small businesses owners & individuals alike .
