Correction
In cryptocurrency trading, a correction is defined as a reverse movement, usually negative, of at least 10% in price within a short period. Corrections are typically seen as a normal part of the market cycle and can be used to gauge investor sentiment. Corrections are often followed by periods of increased volatility, more intense buying and selling activity, or even new highs in the underlying asset’s price.
Corrections can occur due to any number of factors such as having too much speculation causing an overvalued currency or news reports that may cause investors to become unsure about their investments. It’s important to remember that corrections happen in all types of markets and they don’t necessarily mean that something bad has happened with the currency you’re trading.
