10th Downtime
Downtime is the period when a computer system or server cannot be accessed. It can affect any type of online service, including cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets. The 10th downtime refers to an incident which occurred on August 2nd, 2018, when one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange platforms suffered from unexpected outages across its services for several hours. This outage caused many traders to panic as they were unable to access their accounts or make trades during this period. As a result, some people lost money due to not being able to close positions in time before prices changed significantly during the event.
The cause of this particular outage was attributed by experts at the time to network congestion due to increased traffic following news that Bitcoin had reached record highs earlier in the day prior (August 1st). However, other factors may have been involved such as overloaded servers from high demand or possibly malicious actors attempting distributed denial-of-service attacks against certain parts of the platform’s infrastructure . Unfortunately these causes are hard for non-experts and even experienced users alike trying figure out exactly what happened without professional help from security experts within each individual company – something most regular users don’t have access too unfortunately!
In general downtimes like these should serve as reminders that no matter how secure you think your funds are stored online it’s always best practice backup important data offline with encryption keys and regularly monitor transactions/balances etc on all exchanges/wallets used so you’re aware if anything suspicious happens quickly enough take necessary actions protect yourself financially.
