XRP Gary Gensler is a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency industry. He is an American economist and professor of practice at MIT Sloan School of Management who served as Chairman of the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2014.
Gensler has been involved with cryptocurrencies since 2018, when he joined the board of Ripple Labs Inc., which created XRP, one of the world’s largest digital currencies by market capitalization. As chairman, Gensler was tasked with developing regulatory frameworks for cryptocurrencies, specifically for XRP and its parent company Ripple Labs.
