Technical Analysis/Trend Analysis (TA)
Technical analysis, also known as trend analysis or TA, is a method of predicting the future direction of cryptocurrency prices through the study of historical market data. This form of analysis is based on the premise that all past information relevant to the current price and trading volume can be used to predict trends in prices going forward. Technical analysts look for patterns in charts and use those patterns to make predictions about where prices are likely to go next.
The primary tools used by technical traders include charting software such as candlestick charts, bar graphs and line graphs; indicators such as moving averages and oscillators; and other forms of quantitative methods like Fibonacci retracements or Elliot Waves. Using these tools, traders attempt to identify significant support levels where buying pressure may increase or resistance levels where selling pressure may increase. By combining several indicators together into a strategy, technical traders aim to gain an edge when making trades in cryptocurrency markets.
