Shin Hyun-seong is a South Korean entrepreneur and cryptocurrency pioneer who is the founder of Metaps Plus, one of the largest blockchain companies in South Korea. Shin was born on May 28th, 1981 in Seoul and began his career as an engineer at Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., working on mobile phone development. He then went on to launch his own venture capital firm called Igloo Capital before founding Metaps Plus in 2014.
Metaps Plus is focused on developing innovative technologies utilizing blockchain technology for businesses throughout Asia Pacific region. The company has developed several products such as payment solutions, digital wallets, exchange services, loan services and security token offerings (STOs). Shin’s vision for Metaps Plus has been to provide users with complete access to digital assets across different blockchains while creating trust between customers through secure transactions using smart contracts.
In addition to being the CEO of Metaps Plus, Shin also serves as an advisor for numerous other startups within the cryptocurrency space including Coinone Exchange Platform and Gopax Exchange Platform which are both based out of South Korea. He also advises Yello Finance which provides financial services that utilize blockchain technology in Southeast Asia countries such as Indonesia and Thailand.
Shin is considered a thought leader within the crypto community due to his involvement with various projects over the years; he was recently named by Forbes Magazine as one of ‘Asia’s 30 Under 30’ entrepreneurs for 2018 due to his success with Metaps Plus and its associated projects
