Samuel Lim is a Singapore-based technology entrepreneur and investor focusing on blockchain, cryptocurrency, and AI. He is the co-founder of Blockchain Global Limited (BGL), one of the world’s leading venture capital firms investing in blockchain companies worldwide.
Lim has been an active participant in the development of the global blockchain industry since 2013 when he first encountered Bitcoin as part of his research into online payment systems. In 2014, he founded BGL with partners Mike Kayamori and Andrew Tiang to create an institutional investment platform focused on supporting entrepreneurs building innovative technologies based on distributed ledger systems such as Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Ripple, Stellar Lumens and others.
Since then Samuel has made significant investments into early stage projects such as Aelf (ELF), TenX (PAY) and OmiseGo (OMG). He was also instrumental in helping launch some successful Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) such as Power Ledger’s POWR token sale which raised $34 million USD in just three days.
In addition to his work with BGL, Samuel serves on advisory boards for various crypto startups including Coinsilium Group Ltd., Neufund AG and PumaPay where he lends his expertise to help guide these companies through their growth stages. He is also an active speaker at conferences around the world discussing topics related to digital currencies, ICOs and other emerging technologies within the space.
