Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (born January 17, 1954) is an American environmental attorney and activist who has been a leading voice in the fight against global climate change for decades. He is the founder of Waterkeeper Alliance, an international non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting waterways around the world.
Kennedy first became involved in the cryptocurrency space when he joined forces with entrepreneur John McAfee to develop a project called MCF Token that would allow users to conduct transactions more securely and quickly than other digital currencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum. The project ultimately failed due to lack of funding, but it demonstrated Kennedy’s commitment to creating new tools for secure digital payments.
Since then, Kennedy has continued his involvement in cryptocurrency by becoming an advocate for blockchain technology as well as investing in various projects related to cryptocurrencies including BitPay and Ripple Labs Inc., which focuses on providing enterprise solutions using distributed ledger technology. In addition, he serves on the advisory board of Blockchain Capital LLC, a venture capital firm that invests exclusively in businesses utilizing blockchain technology.
Kennedy also speaks publicly about his views on cryptocurrencies at conferences worldwide and recently appeared at CoinDesk’s Consensus event where he discussed how blockchain can help combat climate change by removing intermediaries from energy trading markets and enable peer-to-peer energy transfers without high fees or long waiting times associated with traditional banking systems.
