Ram Ahluwalia is an entrepreneur and investor in the cryptocurrency space. He is the founder of Coinsetter, Cavirtex, TradeBlock, and BitAccess.
Ahluwalia has been involved in the blockchain industry since its early days when he founded Coinsetter, one of the first bitcoin exchanges to launch in 2012. Since then Ahluwalia has become a key figure in promoting blockchain technology use cases across financial services and beyond. In 2017 he co-founded TradeBlock – a leading platform for institutional traders to access cryptoassets such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
In 2018 Ram led his firm’s acquisition of Canadian exchange Cavirtex, making it possible for Canadian investors to buy BTC with CAD directly from bank accounts using Interac Online payments. Later that same year he launched BitAccess which provides Bitcoin ATMs worldwide allowing users to purchase digital currency without needing any prior experience or knowledge about cryptocurrencies. With this move he was able to make buying cryptocurrency even easier than ever before by taking away technical barriers associated with trading on traditional exchanges like Coinbase or Bittrex.
Ahluwalia is also actively engaged in venture capital activities related to blockchain technology including investing into companies such as BlockCypher and Blockchain Technologies Corporation (Btcx2). In addition, Ram serves on several boards within the industry including Unocoin Technologies Private Limited – India’s largest cryptocurrency exchange based out of Bangalore; Steemit Inc.; Factom; Virgil Capital; Cryptiv Inc., among others.
