Met Gala
The Met Gala, also known as the Costume Institute Benefit and formerly called the Costume Institute Ball or the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Annual Party, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the grand opening of their annual fashion exhibit. Each year’s event celebrates a different theme chosen by its honorary chairperson(s), which most recently has been Anna Wintour. The 2019 Met Gala was themed “Camp: Notes on Fashion” and featured Lady Gaga as one of its co-chairs alongside Harry Styles, Serena Williams, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The event is attended by many celebrities from around the world who are dressed to impress according to each year’s theme. Many attendees choose to arrive wearing designer dresses that have been custom made for them or specially selected from top designers like Versace, Chanel and Dior just for this occasion. Some guests may even wear cryptocurrency inspired outfits at times! There are numerous red carpets set up outside with photographers taking pictures so that all attending celebrities can leave with amazing memories they will cherish forever while also getting exposure in other media outlets such as magazines, newspapers etc..
