Mark Mobius China
Mark Mobius is an American investor and fund manager who has worked in the finance industry for over four decades. He is most well-known for his management of the Templeton Emerging Markets Fund, which he launched in 1987. In recent years, he has been focused on investing in Asia – particularly China – where he believes there are tremendous opportunities to be had.
Mobius first began investing in Chinese companies back in 1988 when the country’s economic reforms were just starting to take hold. Since then, he has made a number of successful investments throughout the region, including leading a consortium that invested $2 billion into Fosun International Ltd., one of China’s largest private conglomerates. In addition, Mobius recently announced plans to launch a new Chinese venture capital fund called Mark Venture Partners that will focus on early-stage technology startups across Greater China.
