Jim Cramer Bitcoin Manipulated
Jim Cramer, a famous financial analyst and host of CNBC’s Mad Money show, has been accused of manipulating the bitcoin market. The accusations were made by researcher John Griffin in April 2018, when Griffin released his research paper “Is Bitcoin Really Un-Tethered?”. In this paper, he concluded that large investors including hedge funds had worked with Cramer to manipulate the price of bitcoin between March 2017 and March 2018.
Griffin’s claims have been disputed by some experts in the cryptocurrency space who argue that it is difficult for any single individual or group to meaningfully influence the price of bitcoin due to its global nature. However, others have suggested that experienced traders can still influence smaller markets like those for altcoins (alternative cryptocurrencies).
In response to these allegations, Jim Cramer himself has denied any involvement in manipulating bitcoin prices. He further clarified that he does not invest money into cryptocurrencies himself but only talks about them on TV shows such as Mad Money.
CNBC has also issued a statement denying any involvement from their end saying “We are confident that we followed proper procedures related to Mr. Cramer’s reporting on Bitcoin”.
