Jeffrey Gundlach is an American financial commentator and investor who is frequently quoted on the Federal Reserve and its monetary policies. He currently serves as chief executive officer of DoubleLine Capital, a Los Angeles-based money management firm.
Gundlach has been highly critical of the Federal Reserve’s actions since 2008, when it began cutting interest rates to stimulate economic activity during the Great Recession. He has argued that quantitative easing (QE) was misguided and has only served to enrich Wall Street at the expense of Main Street. He believes that QE should be used more judiciously going forward, given its potential for unintended consequences such as asset bubbles or inflationary pressures in certain markets.
