Internet Computer Ecosystem
The Internet Computer Ecosystem is a new layer of the internet that seeks to enable a new wave of web applications and services. It is built on the blockchain technology and provides unprecedented levels of decentralization, security, scalability, and performance. The ecosystem consists of several components including its native cryptocurrency ICN (ICON), its public access protocol DFINITY, and its open source software development platform Arweave.
Cryptocurrency – ICN
The native currency for the Internet Computer Ecosystem is ICN (ICON). It serves as an incentive for users to participate in network consensus by securing it with their computing power. Additionally, it helps facilitate payments between nodes when interacting with each other or with applications running on top of the system. Its design also allows users to take part in governance decisions within the protocol such as voting on proposed changes or additions to its features over time.
Public Access Protocol – DFINITY
DFINITY is an open-source public access protocol that powers the entire Internet Computer Ecosystem. The protocol enables developers to build distributed applications (“DApps”) without having to worry about managing servers or databases themselves – they can simply write code and deploy it directly onto the Distributed Cloud Network provided by DFINITY’s infrastructure layer known as “Threshold Relay Chain” or “TRC” for short. This means that developers no longer need third-party hosting solutions like Amazon Web Services (AWS) etc., which are expensive and often unreliable due to high latency issues caused by centralised data centres being located too far away from end-users around world . With TRC, all participating nodes have equal access so there are no bottlenecks nor any single point failure risks at play here either!
Open Source Software Development Platform – Arweave
Arweave is an open source software development platform designed specifically for building distributed apps within the Internet computer ecosystem using JavaScript/TypeScript programming language syntaxes & semantics instead of Ethereum’s Solidity language used traditionally when developing dapps atop Ethereum smart contracts networks.. Unlike traditional backend systems where apps rely heavily upon centralized database connectivity & storage resources , Arweave allows app developers who use it create completely autonomous decentralized architectures based off BlockWeaves which store app related data permanently & securely across multiple computers connected together via peer-to-peer networking protocols similar conceptually speaking than those deployed currently behind TOR onion routing protection layers . This makes them extremely secure since even if one node gets attacked successfully hackers won’t be able retrieve anything valuable stored in other machines !
