What is Hashrate?
Hashrate, often referred to as the hash rate or hashing power, is a measure of the processing power of a given cryptocurrency mining operation. It is calculated by measuring how quickly and efficiently computers on a network are able to solve complex math problems in order to generate new blocks of data on the blockchain. The higher the hash rate, the more powerful and efficient a network will be at producing new blocks on its respective blockchain. In addition, it can also be used to measure how secure a given network is since it requires greater computing resources and energy for malicious actors to launch successful attacks against any given network with higher hashrates.
