Harry Dent Economic Crash
The Harry Dent economic crash is a term coined by American author and financial analyst Harry S. Dent Jr. He predicted that the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) would drop to around 5,000 during 2008–2009 due to overvalued stocks and an aging population. His predictions were based on the idea of “demographic economics” which states that markets are driven by generational values and spending habits.
Dent’s prediction was widely publicized in 2007 with his book “The Great Depression Ahead”.
