Gracy Chen is a blockchain technology executive and entrepreneur who has worked at the intersection of finance, law, and technology. She currently serves as General Partner of FinTech Collective, an early stage venture capital firm investing in financial services technologies. Prior to joining FinTech Collective, she served as Head of Business Development for R3CEV LLC (formerly known as R3), a consortium of over 70 global banks focused on leveraging distributed ledger technology for enterprise-level applications.
Gracy’s background includes leadership roles with startups such as Coinbase where she was responsible for institutional business development and strategic partnerships; Commonwealth Crypto where she launched the first cryptocurrency index fund; Global Blockchain Research Center (GBRC) where she was Director of Strategic Partnerships; and Digital Currency Group (DCG) where she developed their infrastructure investments practice. She also established her own consulting practice in 2013 to advise companies developing or deploying distributed ledger applications.
In addition to being an active investor in fintech companies like Celo, Dharma Protocol, Unchain Capital, and Standard Treasury Inc., Gracy advises multiple projects including AirSwap and Zcash Foundation among others. She is also a regular speaker at industry events around the world discussing topics related to blockchain technology investment opportunities & trends from both legal/regulatory perspective & practical product implementation perspectives that may shape the future landscape of digital asset markets & transactions globally.
Gracy received her JD from Stanford Law School in 2006 after graduating summa cum laude from Harvard College with degrees in Economics & East Asian Studies/Chinese Language Literature.
