What is the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA)?
The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) is a blockchain-based collaboration platform that brings together Fortune 500 companies, startups, academics, and technology vendors with the aim of advancing enterprise adoption of Ethereum-based blockchain solutions. Founded in February 2017 by 30 founding members, EEA now has over 500 member organizations across multiple industry verticals, including finance, healthcare and government. The EEA works to develop standards and specifications around enterprise use cases for the Ethereum platform based on its underlying technology stack. Additionally, EEA provides resources to promote best practices within the industry while educating enterprises on how they can benefit from using distributed ledger technologies such as Ethereum. As part of its mission to drive mainstream adoption of blockchain solutions built with open source software development toolsets like Solidity and Web3JS libraries, EEA also organizes events focused on technical education for developers working within this space.
