Elizabeth McCaul is a leading figure in the cryptocurrency world. She has been an advocate of digital currency since 2017 and is currently serving as the Chairwoman of CryptoUK, a trade association for digital asset businesses operating in the UK.
McCaul began her career by founding two companies that were involved with blockchain technology: The Blockchain Alliance and TokenMarket Ltd. Her work led to both startups being acquired by larger entities within the space. At TokenMarket, she was responsible for developing token sale structures which are now commonly used throughout the industry today.
In 2018, McCaul joined Coinbase’s board of directors as part of its Series E funding round and has gone on to be one of its most prominent figures within crypto-focused media outlets such as CoinDesk and CNBC’s Fast Money show. In addition to this role at Coinbase, Elizabeth serves on various other boards including those related to exchanges (Gemini), custodians (BitGo) and startup accelerators (Techstars).
As well as sitting on these boards, McCaul also acts as an advisor or investor in several cryptocurrency projects ranging from public blockchains such as Tezos or Dash Core Group; financial infrastructure providers like Chainalysis; decentralised finance protocols such Kyber Network; enterprise solutions like Ripple Labs Inc.; networks like Airswap Protocol & Orchid Protocol ;and even security tokens platforms Polymath Networks & Harbour Projects .
Finally outside her professional life Elizabeth holds multiple speaking engagements at conferences across Europe where she regularly talks about topics surrounding regulation , stablecoins , decentralized autonomous organizations(DAO) amongst many others .
