Democracy
Democracy is a system of government in which the citizens exercise power by voting. It is a form of rule that ensures equal rights, justice and freedom for all individuals regardless of their social status or economic background. In democratic societies, people are allowed to voice their opinions and take part in decision-making processes through electoral systems such as referendums, elections and plebiscites. This enables them to influence laws, policies and practices related to public matters at local, regional or global levels.
Cryptocurrency Democracy
Cryptocurrencies are digital currencies built on cryptographic technologies with decentralized control enabled by distributed ledgers (such as blockchain). In this sense cryptocurrencies can be considered an example of direct democracy where decisions about the money supply or financial policy can be made directly by users rather than governments or banks who traditionally act as intermediaries between citizens and money creation/distribution process. Moreover cryptocurrency technology allows for self-executing contracts powered by “smart” code programs making it possible to create autonomous organizations able to manage assets without any human intervention whatsoever – thus creating truly trustless environment based solely on math equations instead of trusting centralized third parties like banks & financial institutions do today (see DAO / Decentralized Autonomous Organizations).
