Credit Suisse is a global financial services company founded in 1856. Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, the bank offers private banking and wealth management services as well as investment banking and asset management to clients around the world. Credit Suisse has been involved with cryptocurrency since 2017 when it began offering trading of Bitcoin futures contracts through its subsidiary Winterthur Versicherungs-Gesellschaft AG (Winterthur), one of the largest Swiss insurers. In 2019, Credit Suisse became part of the Libra Association which was formed by Facebook to develop cryptocurrencies based on blockchain technology; however, they later pulled out due to regulatory uncertainty surrounding the project.
Today, Credit Suisse provides institutional investors access to digital assets via its Prime Services platform which supports tokenized securities such as stocks and ETFs issued on public blockchains like Ethereum or Hyperledger Fabric that are compliant with FINMA regulations. The bank also launched an exchange-traded product ETP (Exchange Traded Product) called Crypto Basket Index ETP under their own brand name CSXB allowing customers exposure to different crypto assets including bitcoin cash, litecoin and ethereum classic without having direct ownership over them; this product can be traded on SIX Swiss Exchange – Europe’s 4th largest stock exchange after London Stock Exchange Group plc , NYSE Euronext Paris SA and Deutsche Borse AG . Furthermore credit suissse have recently announced plans for a new digital currency issuance platform named “Digital Asset Platform”; this will allow companies from all industries globally issue their own tokens/coins regulated by FINMA & SEC rules according local markets restrictions & regulations too..
Finally credit suissse have already made some strategic investments into successful projects like Coinbase who raised $300 million Series E funding round led by Tiger Global Management along other major venture capital firms such as Andreessen Horowitz ; thus showing clear signs that they believe in future potential of Cryptocurrencies despite present market conditions uncertainties ….
