Bank of Brazil (Banco do Brasil) is the oldest and largest bank in Brazil. Founded in 1808, it has been a major player in the country’s financial sector for over 200 years. Its headquarters are located in Brasília, with branches throughout Brazil as well as offices abroad. It offers a wide range of services including banking, insurance and investment funds management products to more than 30 million customers across the world.
The Bank of Brazil was one of the first entities to recognize cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin when they began appearing on the global market back at 2009/2010 timeframe; though its relationship to this type digital asset remains somewhat ambiguous due to evolving international regulations related cryptosurfing activities. Lately however, since 2017 onwards Banco do Brasil announced that it would start working with blockchain technology solutions through partnerships with companies like IBM or RippleNet among others -to explore new possibilities from both national and international perspectives- while also allowing certain types transactions using select cryptocurrency assets under certain conditions stated by its own guidelines .
