Arm Virtual Machine (Qtum)
Arm Virtual Machine, or “AVM”, is a virtual machine designed to enable the execution of smart contracts on Qtum. It was developed by theARM Ltd., a UK-based software engineering firm in partnership with Qtum. AVM is based on Ethereum’s EVM and uses ARM architecture for its instruction set. The main purpose of this virtual machine is to facilitate the deployment and execution of decentralized applications (dApps).
Unlike other blockchain platforms that require developers to learn new programming languages such as Solidity, AVM allows developers to use existing languages such as C++ and Rust for developing dApps.
