Alphabet (Google)
Alphabet Inc., formerly known as Google, is a multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related products and services. It was created on August 10th 2015 by two of the cofounders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The parent company operates several subsidiaries including YouTube, Android, Waymo (self-driving cars), Nest Labs (smart home automation products) and Calico (life sciences research). Alphabet Inc. also owns the venture capital firm CapitalG which invests in startups across various industries such as healthcare, finance and artificial intelligence.
The company has recently announced plans to launch its own cryptocurrency called “Alphacoin”, based on blockchain technology. Alphacoin will be used for peer-to-peer payments between users within Alphabet’s ecosystem as well as other applications like online shopping or international money transfers with minimal fees compared to traditional financial institutions like banks or credit card companies. Alphacoin transactions are expected to be secure due to distributed ledger technology where each transaction must be verified by multiple computers before it can become part of the public record – eliminating fraud risks associated with centralized systems controlled by one entity alone. Furthermore, all transactions will be anonymous since user identities remain hidden behind pseudonyms so no personal information is ever released publicly during any exchange of funds using Alphacoin currency units (“Coins”).
