Alex Gladstein is a human rights activist and Chief Strategy Officer of the Human Rights Foundation (HRF). He is also an advocate for cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin.
Gladstein has been involved in the cryptocurrency industry since 2013 when he became a speaker at various conferences on topics related to digital currency and its potential implications for freedom and democracy around the world. In 2014, he co-founded Liberty Life Trail with Alex Petrov to promote financial privacy, digital asset protection, economic sovereignty, as well as decentralization initiatives such as distributed energy grids.
Over the years since then, Gladstein has written numerous articles about cryptocurrencies for publications such as The Guardian newspaper’s “Opinion” section and CoinDesk magazine. He was invited by Harvard University’s Institute of Politics in 2018 to speak on how blockchain technology can help protect vulnerable populations from oppressive regimes worldwide through increased access to information & independent media outlets. As part of his work at HRF he helps lead efforts towards making sure that people everywhere are able to benefit from decentralized technologies like Bitcoin while staying safe from coercion or manipulation due their data being stored securely within these networks rather than centralized servers owned by governments or corporations which may be subject to hacking attacks or surveillance efforts if not properly secured.
In addition to his advocacy work promoting greater awareness & adoption of cryptoassets among individuals worldwide — often citing examples where it could improve someone’s quality life — Gladstein regularly speaks publicly about human rights issues including: internet censorship; government surveillance; restrictions placed upon non-governmental organizations; political prisoners held without trial etc… His ultimate goal is ensuring basic freedoms remain intact regardless of technological advances made over time whether through blockchain technology or other platforms/systems yet unknown today but invented tomorrow morning!
