The author of the best-selling book “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” Robert Kiyosaki, has disclosed the specifics of his investment philosophy, making clear its deviation from the strategies followed by Berkshire Hathaway’s CEO, Warren Buffett. “Rather than mimicking Warren Buffett by attempting to time the market, I focus on the consistent accumulation of assets that I aim to hold for the long term. My portfolio comprises gold, silver, bitcoin, and real estate, which I have been amassing over the years,” Kiyosaki elaborated.
Published in 1997 and co-authored with Sharon Lechter, “Rich Dad Poor Dad” has enjoyed a longstanding presence on the New York Times Best Seller List, remaining there for over six years. The book has seen tremendous success, with more than 32 million copies sold across 109 countries and translated into 51 languages.
On social media platform X this past Sunday, Kiyosaki stated:
“My approach consists of steadily ‘accumulating’ the assets I am interested in for long-term holding. Over the years, I have built a diversified portfolio of gold, silver, bitcoin, and real estate.”
He further added, “The first gold coin I purchased was for $50. Its current market value stands at $2,000. Being an average investor, employing the technique of dollar-cost averaging, can indeed make one wealthy. Today, gold fell by $10 and silver by 14 cents—situations where the benefits of ‘dollar-cost averaging’ become apparent.”
Warren Buffett, an advocate of value investing, has previously shared that the cornerstone of his investment success lies in “putting money into businesses with enduring favorable economic traits and reliable management teams.” When acquiring companies or equities, Buffett seeks “premier businesses led by exceptional management.”
Kiyosaki has long advised investors to include gold, silver, and bitcoin in their portfolios. Just last week, he projected that the price of bitcoin could soar to $135,000, while gold could surpass $2,100 before experiencing further increases. He also forecasted that the price of silver would rise from its current $23 to $68 per ounce.
In previous prognostications, Kiyosaki suggested that a global economic downturn would catapult the price of bitcoin to $1 million, gold to $75,000, and silver to $60,000. Earlier in February, he forecasted that by 2025, bitcoin would reach $500,000, gold would escalate to $5,000, and silver would touch $500.
Contrary to Kiyosaki’s bullish stance on bitcoin, Warren Buffett remains skeptical. The celebrated investor has gone on record stating that bitcoin is “likely equivalent to rat poison squared.” He also remarked in April that bitcoin is a speculative instrument devoid of intrinsic value, and declared last May that he would not pay $25 for all the bitcoin in the world.
